Rabies Vaccinations are required for any dog over 4 months old.

Cost: $150.00 for 6 consecutive classes. Includes written material and the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy.

For those who successfully complete the S.T.A.R. Puppy exam, you will have the option of testing for the AKC Canine Good Citizen. This will take place during an additional 7th class. The fee for this is $10.00. For more info: STAR Puppy program

Rally Beginner Novice at 5:30 pm

Rally Advanced thru Masters 7:00 pm

Pasanita Obedience Club is offering Beginner Novice and Advanced thru Masters Rally Classes this fall. The Beginner Novice is designed for new and returning students training their dogs for the Novice level Rally courses and getting ready for competition. Dogs should have successfully completed a Basic Obedience Class and can heel on the handlers’ left side with a loose leash.

Basic Obedience required for Rally Classes:

• Dog heels on loose leash on le side

• Dog sits and lays down on command

• Dog comes when called

• Dog can do a sit-stay at the end of the leash

In the Advanced thru Masters class the higher level signs will be reviewed and demonstrated in a ring set up with a Rally course before running students thru individually. AKC Rally information and a List of Resources for Rally signs, You Tube links for videos, and additional information throughout the 6 weeks via email. Rally can be a lot of fun, and that’s the main goal for us teaching the class, but it will take me to learn the signs and a lot of prac ce to be successful.

Equipment required:

• Dog Crate, X-pen or another human to hold dog while you walk the course

• High Value dog treats such as freeze dried liver or what ever your dog is crazy about

• 6-foot leash

• Flat or training collars acceptable. NO halters or harnesses.

An Obedience Skills Level Evaluation, on leash, will take place on the first night of class to determine appropriate class eligibility. Bring your dog, 6-foot leash, dog crate, chair, water and treats! (No dog crate = no class).

Cost: $160 for a 6 week course.

Their classes are grounded in the K9 Nose Work® methodology developed by the founders of NACSW®, which emphasizes building a dog's natural hunting and problem-solving abilities while teaching handlers to observe, support, and better understand their canine partners. Through this approach, dogs are encouraged to work independently and confidently, while handlers learn the skills needed to recognize search behavior and odor recognition, navigate search environments, manage rewards and leash handling, and become effective teammates.
